Main contractors Grinaker-LTA / Interbeton bv have taken every precaution on site to ensure the safety of workers is of the highest consideration.
The stadium employs over 2000 people to build one of the largest projects of its kind on the African continent and with this said, it is a very momentous statistic to have an average of 1 disabling injury (DI) a month.
This has been drastically reduced since August 2008 from the average of 6 DI's per month. The improvement is directly proportional to commitment from staff and stringent quality control. |

The Grinaker-LTA and Interbeton bv Soccer City Joint Venture has achieved a remarkable safety record of 1 million disabling injury free man hours on site! This is a tremendous occasion due to the number of workers on one of the biggest sites in 2010 FIFA World Cup sites. The official celebration will take place on 21 October.
